Dracula Untold - Synopsis:

"Dracula Untold" is a 2014 American dark fantasy action film directed by Gary Shore, and written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. It is based on the life of Vlad the Impaler, a real-life historical figure who inspired the legend of Dracula. The movie tells the story of young prince Vlad Tepes, who must become a monster feared by his own people in order to obtain the power needed to protect his own family and the families of his kingdom, as they face a threat from the Turks.

The movie opens with a young Vlad Tepes (Luke Evans) being taken away from his family to serve as a soldier for the Turkish army. Vlad becomes a skilled fighter and earns the respect of his commander, Sultan Mehmed II (Dominic Cooper), who later becomes the ruler of the Ottoman Empire. After serving as a soldier for many years, Vlad returns to his homeland, Wallachia, to rule as its prince. He marries Mirena (Sarah Gadon), the love of his life, and they have a son named Ingeras (Art Parkinson).

Years later, Sultan Mehmed II sends his army to Wallachia to collect tribute and recruit young boys to serve as soldiers for the Turkish army. Vlad refuses to give his son to the Turks, and the Turks threaten to invade Wallachia if he does not comply. Vlad seeks the help of a vampire (Charles Dance), who lives in a cave, to gain the power needed to defeat the Turkish army.

The vampire agrees to help Vlad, but warns him that if he drinks human blood for three consecutive days, he will become a vampire permanently. Vlad drinks the vampire's blood and gains superhuman strength, speed, and the ability to transform into a swarm of bats. He leads his army into battle against the Turks, and they are able to defeat them. However, during the battle, Mirena is killed by a stray arrow.

Devastated by the loss of his wife, Vlad decides to renounce his vampire powers, and he burns the vampire's cave to the ground. The movie ends with Vlad's son, Ingeras, watching his father's funeral, and it is hinted that Ingeras may be the next to take on the mantle of Dracula.

"Dracula Untold" received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising the action and visual effects, while others criticized the plot and character development. However, the movie was a box office success, grossing over $217 million worldwide.

In conclusion, "Dracula Untold" is an entertaining movie that offers a unique take on the story of Dracula. With its blend of historical fiction and supernatural elements, the movie provides an interesting twist on the legend of Dracula that is sure to please fans of the genre.
