Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is a dark and twisted take on the classic fairytale of Hansel and Gretel. Directed by Tommy Wirkola, the movie features the famous brother and sister duo, now grown-up and working as professional witch-hunters. They travel from town to town, helping innocent villagers to rid themselves of the wicked witches who threaten their lives.
The movie starts with a flashback of Hansel and Gretel's childhood, where they were lured into the gingerbread house by the evil witch. They managed to escape but lost their parents in the process. After that traumatic incident, they dedicated their lives to hunt down witches and avenge their family's death.
As they arrive in a new town, they discover a dark and twisted plot. A coven of witches led by Muriel, a powerful and vengeful witch, plans to use a rare lunar eclipse to sacrifice local children and gain incredible power. Hansel and Gretel team up with a local sheriff and a fanatical fan of theirs, Ben, to stop the coven and prevent the sacrifice from happening.
As they fight their way through the coven, they discover that the witches' plans are more complex than they thought. The coven is looking for a special child, a pure-blooded witch, who can use the power of the eclipse to become invincible. The child they are looking for is none other than Gretel, and her brother will do everything to protect her.
As they reach the climax of the movie, the coven performs the ritual, and the child is about to be sacrificed. Hansel and Gretel arrive just in time to stop them, but the sacrifice is already in motion. Gretel uses her power to break free and fights Muriel in a brutal and epic battle. In the end, Hansel and Gretel succeed in defeating the witches and saving the children.
