Underworld: Awakening - Synopsis:
Underworld: Awakening is a gripping and action-packed movie that follows the story of the vampire warrior Selene, played by Kate Beckinsale, as she leads the battle against humankind. Directed by MĂ¥ns MĂ¥rlind and Björn Stein, the fourth installment in the Underworld franchise takes place after the events of Underworld: Evolution and sees the world of vampires and Lycans come under attack by the human race.
The movie begins with Selene awakening from a cryogenic freeze to find that she has been imprisoned for 12 years. She soon discovers that she has been kept in a laboratory by a group of humans who have discovered the existence of vampires and Lycans. The humans have been conducting experiments on the two species in an effort to create a super hybrid that is immune to their powers and abilities.
As Selene tries to escape the laboratory, she meets a young girl named Eve, who is also a hybrid and has been created using Selene's DNA. Together, Selene and Eve embark on a journey to uncover the truth behind the experiments and stop the humans from wiping out both vampire and Lycan clans.
However, things are not as they seem, and Selene soon discovers that there is more to the situation than just a simple battle between humans and vampires. She learns that there are dark forces at play, and that she may be the only one who can stop them.
As Selene fights to protect her kind, she faces off against some of the most dangerous enemies she has ever encountered, including a powerful human antagonist named Dr. Jacob Lane, played by Stephen Rea, who is leading the charge against the supernatural beings.
